What happens to your existing XP applications when you move to new Operatings Systems such as Vista or Windows 7? Microsoft releases the Enterprise Desktop.
This works using a virtual Windows XP machine on your existing computer, enabling existing XP applications to run in the virtual environment.
People will be able to access the applications running on the virtual environment in the same was as the run normal applications in Vista or Windows 7. Using the Enterprise Desktop will prolong the life on older (XP based) applications, reduce support and training costs.
