17th June was dubbed as Download Day, and saw an unprecidented 8,002,530 downloads in a single day. The browser claims to be quicker, more stable and to make it easier to set bookmarks.

The browser market is highly dominated by Microsoft's Internet Explorer, with Firefox now accounting for some 20 to 30 per cent of browser market share, depending on various statistics. It is claimed to be the most popular of the alternative browsers which do not come pre-installed on PCs when purchased.

The free download offers new features and increased speed for surfing the net.
